Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers play an integral role in the hospice program and are an important member of our interdisciplinary team.  All volunteers receive training before being assigned a volunteer role.  Volunteers who work directly with patients in our inpatient centers will receive additional training. Most adult volunteers spend four hours, or less, per week fulfilling their volunteer commitments to Hospice.

New volunteer training classes are formed numerous times throughout the year, or as a particular need arises. At this time, our greatest need is for home care and nursing facility volunteers who are willing to work with patients living in all areas of northwest Ohio and Monroe County, Michigan.

To learn more about Hospice of Northwest Ohio's volunteer program or to discuss how to get involved, please contact the Volunteer Department at 419-661-4001 or jtucholski@hospicenwo.org.

"Everyone was wonderful and caring about my husband and our family. Whenever we needed anything they would provide it. They listened to our concerns, answered all our questions and explained what was happening and what to expect in a very compassionate way that made his passing very peaceful and with dignity which we appreciated and will always be grateful."
