Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers play an integral role in the hospice program and are an important member of our interdisciplinary team.  All volunteers receive training before being assigned a volunteer role.  Volunteers who work directly with patients in our inpatient centers will receive additional training. Most adult volunteers spend four hours, or less, per week fulfilling their volunteer commitments to Hospice.

New volunteer training classes are formed numerous times throughout the year, or as a particular need arises. At this time, our greatest need is for home care and nursing facility volunteers who are willing to work with patients living in Lucas, Fulton, Henry, northern Wood, western Ottawa and Monroe counties.

"Our family member's entire hospice team was professional, respectful, and caring! They afforded us the ability to keep her at home until the end, which was very important to her. We could not have done that alone. Our family is very grateful for them all!"
