Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers play an integral role in the hospice program and are an important member of our interdisciplinary team.  All volunteers receive training before being assigned a volunteer role.  Volunteers who work directly with patients in our inpatient centers will receive additional training. Most adult volunteers spend four hours, or less, per week fulfilling their volunteer commitments to Hospice.

New volunteer training classes are formed numerous times throughout the year, or as a particular need arises. At this time, our greatest need is for home care and nursing facility volunteers who are willing to work with patients living in Lucas, Fulton, Henry, Wood, Ottawa, Sandusky and Monroe counties.

"Our family appreciated the extreme care my husband received. He was treated with kindness, care, concern, and close attention to the specific needs he had. Our daughter and son-in-law appreciated the care and concern given to me (patient's wife), as well as to our entire family. The staff's sympathy and concern for all of us was more than we hoped for in this incredibly difficult time in our lives."
