about us

Quality Data

Here are some of the ways we measure up.

Favorable Rating of Patient Care

84% of Hospice of Northwest Ohio respondents gave our care a 9/10 rating (on a scale of 1 – 10, with 10 being highest) vs. a national average score of 81%.

90% said they would “definitely” recommend Hospice of Northwest Ohio vs. 84% nationally.

Specially Certified Staff

In 2019, 73% of our eligible clinical staff – including nurses and aides – were specially certified in hospice and palliative care. This compares to a 34% average nationwide, as reported in 2015 survey results from the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.

Dedicated Hospice and Palliative Care Physicians

Unlike many area hospices who have a part-time medical director, Hospice of Northwest Ohio has six physicians and eight advanced practice nurses on staff whose careers are fully devoted to end-of-life care.

Robust Bereavement Program

Hospice of Northwest Ohio has four specially trained and credentialed bereavement counselors who offer a wide array of services not only to Hospice families, but also to the community. This compares with other agencies who fulfill their Medicare requirement to provide bereavement programming by simply handing out literature or providing limited counseling.
