Grief Support
Hospice of Northwest Ohio provides several support groups and workshops to help people cope with the loss of a loved one. While some people may be afraid to join a group at first, we recommend they give it a try. Group members usually feel very comfortable giving and receiving support in the group with others who share similar concerns.
All groups are provided free of charge and are available to anyone in the community, whether or not they have had previous involvement with Hospice of Northwest Ohio. All support group meetings are conducted by professional counselors, with trained volunteers and are held at either our Toledo or Perrysburg Hospice Centers or our Michigan Office. For more information, or to register, contact the bereavement team at 419-661-4001 or 734-568-6801.
Meeting with a Hospice of Northwest Ohio grief counselor is required before participation in any group. Please call the bereavement team to discuss a time and date that will work for you and your family. This will be a time for you to share your story and hear about the bereavement program.
To help those coping with the loss of a loved one during the COVID-19 emergency, our bereavement team has created this video which offers tips in coping with the loss.
