Through the years, I have had the privilege to learn from, work with, and even care for some incredible physicians who are an inspiration and true credit to our profession. What I observed in them is the emotion that comes from true compassion for the patient. I saw the thrill physicians experience when the treatment plan for their patient works, the disappointment and sadness when the patient’s disease progresses, and the empathy as they share difficult news.
I wanted to thank the physicians who work for Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Sincera palliative care for their dedication, compassion, and expertise to give the most vulnerable patients the best quality of life. I would also like to thank them for their passion to educate nurses, medical students, residents, and fellows about hospice and palliative care. Which I believe is the sacred art of medicine for those with life limiting illness. You have all been an inspiration to me.
To the physicians in northwest Ohio, I would like to thank you for your service to our community. I hear from patients the wonderful work you have done and how thankful they have been for your care and expertise.
